Grand Teton National Park sits just a few minutes north of Jackson Hole, Wyoming and is home to some of the most dramatic peaks and ski runs in the United States. The Exum Guides have skied and guided in the Tetons for more than 90 years and we have explored every corner of the park. Last spring, Exum hosted two Ski Mountaineering Clinics. These technical sessions focused on steep skiing techniques, evaluating snow and weather conditions, rope systems, teamwork, and rappelling. Teton County residents Connie Kemmerer and Kay Wilson, both 81 years old, didn’t set out to climb the Grand Teton in August to set any records. For the two friends and climbing partners, it was about spending time in the mountains they loved and having another memorable adventure together.
