Hailing from Eastern Iowa, Will grew up on the flanks of the Mississippi River. From a passionate skiing family, he had sticks on his feet from a very young age whenever possible. He attended the University of Colorado at Boulder, gaining a degree in Environmental Studies. While in University, his passion for backcountry skiing and rock climbing flourished, eventually leading him to pursue the career of a mountain guide. Since leaving Iowa, Will has climbed and skied all across North America and Europe, particularly enjoying steep skiing and even steeper limestone. At the moment, Will is an AMGA Assistant Ski Guide & Apprentice Rock & Alpine Guide, actively pursuing international status. Alongside guiding, Will runs MTN Mapping, a website focused on providing education on digital mapping tools for backcountry skiers, climbers, and trail runners. He now calls Salt Lake City, UT home where he lives with his partner & their two cats.
Outside of guiding, Will also has had a career as a photographer working in the action sports industry with companies including Patagonia, Red Bull, Under Armour, and more.
When not in the Tetons, Will guides in the Wasatch Mountains, North Cascades, San Juans, and Alaska.
