Simon began guiding in 2015 as an apprentice with the Alaska Mountaineering School, after learning his foundational skills via the Outdoor Studies degree path at Alaska Pacific University. Since then he has undertaken over 5 dozen expeditions around Alaska – a bulk of which have been guiding clients in the Central Alaska Range on both famous and little known routes. In his personal time he enjoys technical alpine, ice, and rock climbing; as well as skiing powder. Since 2019 he has continued his professional growth through the AMGA’s mountain guide training programs, in addition to seeking out varied and challenging guiding assignments. Based in Palmer, AK, Simon appreciates his summer guiding season in the Teton Mountains for the varied and accessible terrain, relatively small packs, and of course the fun clientele who are engaged with progressing their own skills in the mountains.
Currently (Feb 2025) AMGA Apprentice Ski Guide, Assistant Rock Guide, Assistant Alpine Guide
