On a college trip to Wyoming, Michelle fell in love with the snow-covered mountains and wide-open spaces of the Tetons. Inspired by that first visit, she’s rearranged her life to spend every summer here since 2014, exploring the hidden solitude of the mountains. Michelle counts herself lucky to spend the rest of the year in Moab, Utah, a climber’s desert paradise.
A person in search of perpetual change, Michelle has lived all over the US, pursued varied careers from auto mechanics to neutrino physics research to teaching, and is constantly seeking new books to read. A climber since 2002, her one constant is the desire to be outside. She found her true calling as a climbing guide, sharing her passion for adventure and wild beauty with visitors. She is proud to now work alongside all the amazing Exum Guides and Office Staff.
Michelle’s philosophy is to enjoy every moment, to be a supportive and positive adventure partner, and to seek new challenges and learning experiences. With her patient and friendly style, she helps the climbers who come to Exum define their goals and choose their next climb or trip. If you’ve called, emailed, or visited Exum’s office, you’ve probably run into Michelle. As a guide, she’s here to help you meet your climbing dreams and have an amazing Teton experience!
