Michael has been devoted to ski mountaineering and climbing ever since he graduated from UC Berkeley in 2011 with a masters degree in geophysics. He acquired and honed his alpine climbing and backcountry skiing knowledge in the Sierra Nevada’s, Teton’s, San Juan’s, and British Columbia, where he skied a first descent on Mt Rogers in 2015. He also spends many months each year rock climbing in the mountains and deserts of California and the southwestern US. The Tetons are Michael’s favorite mountains, he has made ski descents of most major peaks in the range and has completed the Grand Traverse in two days. Michael recently began the AMGA ski guide and rock guide courses, and he intends to complete the coursework in both disciplines over the next few years.
