Micah has over 19 years of climbing experience including alpine/mountaineering, big wall, sport, trad, and ice climbing. His climbing ascents have taken him throughout North and South America, as well as Europe and Southeast Asia. Micah has first ascents throughout Wyoming and authored a guidebook for Fremont Canyon as well as worked to replaced many of the “unsafe”, old fixed gear in Fremont Canyon and Dome Rock through the Anchor Replacement Initiative. In 2009 Micah was awarded the International Climber’s Festival Board of Director’s Award for his contributions to the Wyoming climbing community.
Micah currently holds the Cirque Traverse record in the Wind River Range with a time of 10:15. When Micah is not guiding or climbing, he works as a firefighter and first responder using his extensive emergency medical training, as well well as rope rescue and confined space rescue techniques. During the winter months, Micah spends his time ski mountaineering in the Tetons, ice climbing, or training for ultra marathons.
Educating climbers, and making the mountain experience accessible to everyone is a way Micah seeks to provide others with this passion that has so richly impacted his life.
