Iris grew up in Lake Tahoe, the jewel of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. When she could walk, she skied and started snowboarding at 12. Shorty after starting to ride it became her life. She worked at a board shop, then starting competing in local amateur events leading to professional competition and traveling the world. Snowboarding took her on Alaskan expeditions, competing in New Zealand, powder chasing in Japan, guiding/coaching in South America, hut trips in Europe, road-trips into Canada and all over North America. Most recently she competed in the Freeride World Tour for 2 seasons, then retired from competing when she moved to Jackson in 2013. In Jackson is where she started pursuing a guiding career in the winter and started work for EXUM.
