To help you pack for your trip, we’ve prepared the following equipment lists. The “Essential Items” under each list must be brought with you the morning of your activity. Your guide will ensure you have these items before setting out. Some of these items can be rented from us or locally in Jackson. Please check out Rentals for more information. Equipment checklist for all of our day climbs. This includes all participants training for the Grand Teton. All schools, all Custom and Family climbing, all Kids’ Camps, Snow Schools, and all climbing and instruction held at Hidden Falls, Teton Village and everywhere else in the Tetons.

Exum provides helmets, harnesses, carabiners, belay devices, crampons, and ice axes for use by Exum guided climbers. There is no additional cost to use this equipment.
Exum also offers the following equipment for rental. The rental charge for each item is $10 per day.
Exum stocks approach shoes in typical sizes, and we have a limited number of small and large sizes. If your size is outside of the norm, please call our office for advice. Approach shoes are used in all group schools and for most climbs.
Exum stocks a limited number of boots. Boots are generally only used in early season when there is still considerable snow in the range.
You should plan to bring your own waterproof jacket and pants, however Exum has a limited number available when necessary. Please call to make sure we have your size. If we do not, they are available for purchase in Jackson.
Exum has some small day packs available for one-day activities. If you are climbing the Grand Teton or another peak, you must bring your own pack.

Exum also has a limited number of climbing shoes, headlamps, and trekking poles available to rent. Please call ahead if you are interested in renting these items.
Please call us at (307) 733-2297 if you have any questions. The best time to reach us during the summer season, June 10 – September 10, is between 10:00 and 2:00 Mountain Time, seven days a week. During these hours, we are not sending out or welcoming back schools and climbs. If you reach our voice mail, we will return your call as soon as possible. In the off season, the best way to reach us is to leave a voicemail message and we will call you back as soon as possible, or you can always email us.
