Exum is the premier guided climbing experience for hikers and mountaineers planning to summit Grand Teton. Despite my lack of technical climbing experience, the guides at Exum helped me to acquire the skills and confidence necessary to make my way to the top of this mountain. I signed up for one day to learn about self arrest and hiking in the snow and two days of rock climbing and repelling. The fourth day we started our ascent to the Lower Saddle and camped out, and the fifth day we made it to the summit. I asked too many questions. The guides answered them all. I didn't have all my gear, they allowed me to rent what I forgot. I needed sunscreen, they provided it. This company definitely helped me bridge the gap from recreational weekend hiker to understand more about mountaineering and rock climbing. I don't understand the rating system for rock climbing. But it was hard. If you are afraid of heights, do your research to fully understand what will be expected of you before you reach out to them. Assuming you are willing to train and acquire all the tools they recommend, this will be the adventure of a lifetime and I can't speak more highly of this company. They didn't just show me the way to the summit, they fostered a sincere relationship where I fully trusted them, and also explained that the journey wasn't just about reaching the summit. Next time when I come back I'll bring a few more friends with me. This is the service provider you need to use for your next adventure in the Tetons.

I want to compliment Exum Mountain Guides and Michael Hutchens for the skill with which they recently assessed my ability and redirected me to a climb that was a better match for my strength and skill. I originally engaged Exum and "Hutch" to climb Mount Owen, not knowing how serious an undertaking that is. After a day of rope work and practice climbs, Hutch consulted other staff and gently informed me that he thought Owen would be really hard for me. I listened carefully and took his word. Instead of Owen, we went up Ice Point on a 1 day climb that was, in fact, the most I could have done - and therefore completely fulfilling. I could not have had a better time in the Tetons thanks to Hutch's personal judgment as well as climbing skill. I intend to come back to do other climbs (within my limits). Steve (age 75)

He was very supportive and we learned a lot about how to approach the different challenges. My husband and I are in our mid 50s with no prior climbing experience and we had our teenage daughter with us. All of us were challenged to our limits and had an amazing experience.

My son and I Summited Grand Teton with Exum and guide Aaron Dahill on June 28th! Complete and uncompromised professionalism from the entire Exum team. Scheduling, pre-trip information and updates, training, and the approach and climb were simply just awesome! Difficult yes - but the difficulty was managed in a way to optimize success. This was not a guide pulling us up the mountain but an experience where we felt like and in fact were part of a climbing team. If you want to be successful in your attempt to climb the Grand, then Exum is the company to call.

As always, Exum never disappoints! Fantastic two days of family climbing. Our guide, Brendan Burns, is awesome and highly recommended. We could not have asked for a better experience or guide. We'll be back!

Epic experience summiting the Grand Tetons with Exum. The experience could not have been better and the guides were super knowledgable and patient.

Emily was a great guide for the Cube Point summit. The climb was amazing and the views from the summit were outstanding. The climb consisted mostly of a hike to the technical rock climb. The climb itself was pretty easy but had a few sections with exposure. If the 5.4 rating makes you think it's too easy so you would avoid it, the view is very much worth it. Also, Emily was knowledgable and very competent.
