Tim has refined his mountain savvy by guiding rock and alpine climbs, high altitude expeditions, and ski descents throughout the continental U.S., Alaska, Canada, South America, Europe and Africa. He enjoys guiding guests of all ages and abilities on outings that range from introductory lessons to extended technical trips.
He typically spends the summer months leading expeditions in Alaska and South America and guiding rock climbing and mountaineering routes in the Tetons and Colorado. During the winter, he guides backcountry ski descents and ice climbs, trains other instructors to teach avalanche safety courses, and works as a forecaster for the Colorado Avalanche Information Center.
Tim’s infectious enthusiasm for sharing unique experiences in remarkable settings is matched only by his interest in learning and sharing techniques to mitigate the risks involved in exploring mountains. Having achieved the highest level of certification in each of the three American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA) disciplines (Rock, Alpine and Ski Mountaineering), he is a fully licensed International Federation of Mountain Guide Associations (IFMGA) guide.
His knack for teaching, methodical approach to customizing each trip to meet the goals of his teams, and high success rate keep his guests coming back for more adventures. Partners regularly return with stories of Tim smiling when most people wouldn’t while breaking trail with a strong wind in his face, navigating through a whiteout or finishing a pitch in the rain.
When not guiding Tim enjoys time with his wife Jennie and new daughter Josie!
