Splitboard Mountaineering Clinic

Exum's Splitboard Mountaineering Clinic is for boarders who would like to ride some of the best terrain in the world.

Join Jones Snowboards Ambassador, Brendan Burns and the team of Exum splitboard guides, to take your splitboarding to the next level.

Exum splitboard guides are trained by the American Association of Snowboard Instructors. Our guides are some of the most accomplished snowboard guides in the US. Participating in this camp is your opportunity to be coached by the best.

Participants should be able to skin up a minimum of 4,000 feet in a day. Come to this camp fit and you will have more fun!

Our 3-day clinic is designed to give intermediate backcountry snowboarders the chance to progress to the next level, and take on a high peak.

If you ride blues and blacks at your local resort, and if you think you’re ready for steeper and more technical terrain, this clinic is for you.

You will spend 1 day on Snow King Mountain, also know as the “Town Hill” in Jackson. The accessibility and high concentration of expert terrain make this a perfect venue for steep snowboarding skills, efficient touring techniques, introduction to technical rope work, and rappelling.

The skills you practice will then be put to the test for the next 2 days while we venture up in the high peaks of the Tetons.

The list of topics and skills covered includes: Gear selection, introduction to technical rope work, use of an ice axe and crampons, steep snowboarding techniques, partner communication, terrain assessment and hazard evaluation.
