After graduating from Middlebury College (B.A. Environmental Studies) in Vermont in 1994, Jesse started a career in the mountains as an apprentice rock & ice climbing guide in the nearby Adirondacks, a pro ski patroller at Jay Peak, and an itinerant carpenter…
Eighteen years later his resume includes thousands of days of personal and guided climbing and skiing in the Northeast, Southwest, Yosemite, Rockies, Tetons, North Cascades & Mt. Rainier, Chugach, Denali & Alaska Range, Canadian Rockies, Quebec’s Chic-Chocs, French Alps and Italian Dolomiti. His personal adventures include first ascents of traditional rock, ice and mixed routes in the Adirondacks and Alaska Range and first ski descents deep in the Wrangell- St. Elias. Guests and clients appreciate his friendly and competent professionalism.
As co-owner of Cloudsplitter Mountain Guides LLC in Keene Valley NY, he spends much of the fall rock climbing, much of the winter ice climbing, and much of the spring skiing…summers are for alpine climbing.
